Common questions

Do I need Strava?
No. Connecting Strava is optional. Without it, you can still show how you move with activity tags on your photos, your interests, when you usually move, how hard you like to go and your favourite first-date ideas. If you do connect, Stride uses your last 90 days of activities to fill in coarse signals such as your activity types and whether you do parkrun. Nobody else sees your activities, routes, maps or stats.
Which activities count?
All kinds of movement: running, trail running, cycling (road, gravel and mountain biking), swimming, walking, hiking, climbing, yoga, pilates, rowing, paddling, surfing, gym and strength training, skiing and more. Stride is for anyone who likes to move, not just runners.
Who can see my location?
Nobody. We store your home area rounded to about 1 km, and other people only see a distance band. You can change your home area once every 30 days. Read more in our privacy policy.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to Profile → Account → Delete account and type DELETE to confirm. It happens straight away. If you no longer have the app, see how to delete your account.
How do I report or block someone?
Open their profile or your chat with them, tap … at the top of the screen and choose Report, Block or Unmatch. Every report is reviewed. See how reporting works.
Is Stride free?
Yes. Stride is free to use, including 10 likes a day. We may add optional paid extras in future, which would be clearly priced in the app and sold through the App Store or Google Play.
When can I message a match?
Chat opens 24 hours before a date you have both confirmed, so conversations lead to real plans.
I did not get my sign-in code.
