Terms of service
Effective 1 December 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and MargoDevelopments (“Stride”, “we”, “us”) about your use of the Stride app and website. By creating an account you agree to them. Please also read our privacy policy and community guidelines, which form part of these terms.
1. Who can use Stride
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You may have only one account, and it must be for you.
- Stride is designed for people in the United Kingdom.
- You must not use Stride if you have been convicted of a sexual or violent offence, or if we have previously removed you from Stride.
2. Your account
You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email address. Keep access to that email account secure, because anyone who can read it can sign in as you. Tell us straight away at support@stridedating.co.uk if you think someone else has accessed your account. The information on your profile must be accurate and about you.
3. Acceptable use
You must follow our community guidelines. In particular, you must not:
- harass, threaten, bully, stalk or intimidate anyone, or post hateful content;
- post nudity, sexually explicit content, or content involving anyone under 18;
- impersonate anyone or use photos that are not of you;
- scam, solicit money, advertise, sell, or promote other services;
- use Stride for anything illegal, or to collect other people’s data;
- try to work out where someone lives or is, from Stride or otherwise;
- interfere with the service, get around safety features, or access it with bots or scrapers.
4. Your content
You own what you post (photos, profile text, prompts and messages). You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, UK-wide licence to host, store, copy, resize and display that content only as needed to run, secure and improve Stride, for example showing your profile to compatible people. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep for safety or legal reasons as explained in our privacy policy. You confirm you have the right to post your content. We may remove content that breaks these terms.
5. Meeting people in person
You are responsible for your own safety when you meet someone. We do not run criminal record or identity background checks on users, and we cannot guarantee that people are who they say they are or will behave well.
Please read and follow our safety tips. Active dates involve physical activity: choose something within your ability and fitness, and take sensible precautions, particularly for open-water swimming, cycling and outdoor activities. Stride suggests date ideas but does not organise, supervise or take part in any date or activity.
If you feel unsafe, leave. In an emergency, call 999.
6. Strava and other services
Connecting Strava is optional. If you connect it, Strava’s own terms and privacy policy also apply to your Strava account. Stride is not affiliated with or endorsed by Strava, and we are not responsible for Strava’s service. You can revoke Stride’s access in your Strava settings at any time.
7. Optional paid features
Stride is free to use. We may offer optional paid features in the future, sold through Apple’s App Store or Google Play as in-app purchases. If we do:
- prices will be shown in the app before you buy, and payment is taken by Apple or Google;
- subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, and you manage or cancel them in your App Store or Google Play account settings (deleting the app or your Stride account does not cancel a subscription);
- refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies;
- nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a UK consumer.
8. Suspension and ending your account
You can stop using Stride and delete your account at any time in the app.
We may warn you, limit features, or suspend or remove your account if you break these terms or our guidelines, if we reasonably believe you put others at risk, or if the law requires it. Where it is safe and appropriate, we will tell you why. If you think we have made a mistake, contact support@stridedating.co.uk.
9. The service
We are working hard to make Stride useful, but we cannot promise you will find a match or that the service will always be available or error-free. We may change, add or remove features. If we decide to close Stride, we will give you reasonable notice where we can.
10. Our responsibility to you
We provide Stride with reasonable care and skill. We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill.
We are not responsible for:
- the conduct of any user, on or off Stride, or what happens when you meet someone;
- loss that was not foreseeable, or losses to a business (Stride is for personal use only);
- services run by others, such as Strava, Apple or Google.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded under the law of England and Wales, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales; if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add features or the law changes. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you do not agree, you can delete your account.
